The Toronto Raptors have announced that Vince Carter's No. 15 will be the first jersey retired by the franchise. The ceremony will take place during halftime of the Raptors' game against the Sacramento Kings on November 2, 2024.
Carter, an eight-time All-Star and the Raptors' first superstar, significantly raised the team's profile and basketball's popularity in Canada. He played seven seasons with the Raptors, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 1999 and winning the Slam Dunk Contest in 2000.
After a long career spanning 22 seasons, Carter will also be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame next month.
